Labour Weekend Club Trip

The club held its annual Labour weekend trip to Willowhaven Holiday Park In Ngongataha Rotorua we had about 20 adults and 3 children come along and stayed and enjoyed the fishing and even went swimming in the warm water.

The fishing was fairly hard over the weekend with only 27 fish being weighed in with a combined weight of 30.3 kgs.

Saturday night we had a combined BBQ and everyone brought a salad to share which was great as we had so many different dishes to taste and enjoy and the men did a good job of cooking their steaks / sausages to their tastes.

The lotto ticket only won us a bonus ticket which on the next draw got nothing and the $3.00 scratchie won $3.00 so we reinvested that and that was also a loser.

The weather over the weekend was patchy with beautiful nights and calm lakes then the wind got up and blew in some medium size waves and a little bit of rain but all in all the weather was ok.

We had one member that went to Lake Rotoiti and the fishing was hard over there too which made the ones Fishing on Lake Rotorua a bit happier.

The raffle this time was a 12 volt car cooler / warmer which was won by my wife Sue which my wife gave to me to put in my truck which made me very lucky indeed. So now we have to go and source the raffle for Anniversary weekend so I’m guessing I will be getting dragged all around the malls yeah lol.

These long weekends are open to all our members and any non members that want to join in and have some fun with us. The camp has powered sites / non powered sites and cabins I have some cabins booked but we need a deposit to secure now.
